Clinique Garnet Pop (06) Cheek Pop PearlClinique Garnet Pop (06) Cheek Pop Pearl ($26.50 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had medium, buildable pigmentation paired with a smooth, moderately-dense, slightly firmer gel-powder texture that felt firmer to the touch but was more yielding than the average gel-powder formula when I put my brush to it.
You’ll still want to use a denser brush head rather than something really feathery, but I found I needed to use a lighter hand than I would have used with the original formula. The blush applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with little energy on my behalf. This shade lasted well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

The formula is supposed to have “buildable watercolor payoff” with a “silky-smooth” texture that lasts for “10 hours.” The formula has the feel of a gel-powder hybrid, so it is firmer, denser in the pan but has no powderiness and is extremely blendable. It melted slightly after being applied and buffed on the skin, though the original formula seemed more luminous and seamless (by a touch).
The updated Cheek Pop formula seemed more yielding, so I could use a lighter hand or a less-dense brush than I would have used with the original range, but you may still find a denser brush most appropriate if you tend to use very feathery brushes.
The updated formula also seemed truer to the buildable claim than the original formula as most shades were more medium in coverage in one layer, but they built up nicely if desired. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading slightly.
